Customer brought their car in because the airbag light was on after being repaired from a front end collision. At least they put a brand new wrecking yard airbag in....

Pulling the reservoir off the hose felt like pulling a tape worm out of something. I had already seen the corks and fished out the glove, but the tape was the icing on the cake.

I can kind of sympathize with the first one, plastic bags floating around on the road can do all sorts of weird shit. back in my wrenching days, I had a customer come in with a Volvo or something (don’t remember for sure, all that matters is it was rear-wheel drive) complaining about an oil leak. Owner said she thought it was coming from the rear of the car, which sounded strange. Whatever, she leaves it, later I get it in and up on the lift. What apparently happened is while she was driving, a plastic bag passed under the car and got snagged by the rear U-joint. Then while being spun around it was twisted tighter and tighter and worked its way past the pinion seal, trashing it. not knowing how much of the bag now resided inside the diff housing, we recommended she have a flatbed come and take it to a nearby suspension/axle shop.

to this day I get nervous when I’m driving and I see any kind of plastic bag heading for my truck.

Yes, the 918 owner had to pay $15k for routine service but they used a snazzy steering wheel condom so that’s good.

Yeah I’ve seen that too. Full on destroyed pinion bearings from plastic bags getting in the s eal and letting all the oil out.
